STUDENT OPPORTUNITIES

Cubris develops data-driven software for sustainable and intelligent railway operations. Our core solution, GreenSpeed®, helps reduce energy consumption, improve punctuality, and support better operational decisions in real rail traffic.

We are a fast-moving, agile team delivering international railway projects and have been part of Hitachi Rail since 2024. This gives us the best of both worlds: the speed and ownership of a focused product team, together with the scale and rail expertise of a global industry leader.

As a student worker, you will work on real, production-relevant challenges with domain specialists across software, optimization, and product.

WHAT YOU COULD BE WORKING WITH

  • Platform & Services: Build and improve cloud foundations with containerized solutions, and develop our future web services.
  • Optimization & Algorithms: Develop junction optimization, extend Speed Profile Optimizer algorithms, and improve GPS-based position prediction using journey profiles and generated advice.
  • Integrations & Modeling: Work on UK IM-TS integrations (Complex live signaling data, routing, infrastructure interfaces) and model UK railway infrastructure from open-source data.
  • Data, UX & Behavior: Use large operational datasets for analytics/thesis work, run UX user tests, and investigate behavioural design to improve advice adoption.
  • Simulation & Quality: Build a simulation tool for regression testing using journey data from the database.

WHY THIS OPPORTUNITY?

  • Real-world impact on mobility, efficiency, and sustainability
  • Exposure to advanced software, algorithms, and rail domain complexity
  • Close collaboration with specialists across software, optimization, and product
  • High responsibility and steep learning in an international technology environment
